The Designer Collection: Elicyon

Elicyon show apartment

Designed by Elicyon, this duplex apartment celebrates volume, craftsmanship and a quietly confident approach to contemporary city living. Antiques, artworks and bespoke pieces are layered against The Whiteley’s heritage architecture, creating an interior that feels collected over time rather than newly assembled.

Extending across 3,741 sq ft and two floors, this three-bedroom home is defined by height and light. Double-height ceilings reach 6.1m, while floor-to-ceiling, heritage-inspired Crittall windows flood the interiors with natural light. Herringbone light oak floors ground the U-shaped reception, dining and kitchen area, an open-plan layout designed for effortless entertaining and everyday ease. Upstairs, a private lounge leading from the principal suite enjoys a gallery-style view over the entertaining space below.

“This apartment is about celebrating volume without overwhelming it. The architecture provides an extraordinary canvas – height, light and proportion – and our role was to introduce warmth, tactility and a deeply personal touch.”

Throughout, Elicyon has chosen materials for the way they respond to light: lacquer to reflect it, stone to absorb it, textiles to soften it. In the main living area, a white-limed oak joinery wall and Calacatta marble fireplace form the focal point, surrounded by travertine coffee tables and bespoke velvet armchairs, while rattan pendants draw the eye upward. A bespoke shelving and bar unit in duck-egg blue lacquer with walnut accents adds colour and warmth. The powder room is a deliberate departure, with deep red walls hand-painted with bronze and goldfish motifs, honed Noir Saint Laurent marble and vintage Murano glass sconces.
